# Santander

## Prerequisites and registration

Before you configure Santander in the Yapily Console, register your application with the bank:

1. **eIDAS certificates:** Make sure you hold valid **QWAC** (transport) and **QSEAL** (signing) certificates issued by a qualified trust service provider (QTSP).
2. **Developer portal registration:** Register your organisation or TPP on the Santander Developer Portal linked above.
3. **Application setup:** Create an application that requests access to Account Information Services (AIS) and Payment Initiation Services (PIS).
4. **Credentials:** Obtain your **Client ID** and **Client Secret**.

## Santander Live Environment

**Precondition:** To connect to Santander, whether you are accessing account information or initiating payments, your business must have the right permission to access the resource. You need valid eIDAS certificates to connect to the environment. Create an application on the bank portal. Once the application is created and the `client_id` and `client_secret` are generated:

1. Upload your eIDAS certificates (QWAC and QSEAL, with their corresponding private keys) into the [Certificate Vault](https://console.yapily.com/certificates).
2. Open your application in the [Yapily Console](https://console.yapily.com/applications) and select the **Live** tab.
3. Add the `santander-de` institution.
4. Enter your **Client ID** and **Client Secret**, then select your **QWAC** and **QSEAL** certificates from the dropdown lists.
5. Click **Save** to enable the institution.
